Introduction
Thank you for visiting my website. A quick introduction is in order and then I will explain how I set up the site so you can navigate to find the information you seek. My name is Steve Casey and I am the owner operator of Casey Design Inc. I am a hands on designer/ craftsmen and have been making original and custom made wood products since 1976. My shop is in Agoura Hills, CA and I supply custom work in and around the Los Angeles area. I am highly specialized in the home theater market but I am just as skilled and experienced in the kitchen cabinet and home/ commercial office market as well. When you call my shop I am the one that answers the phone. I PERSONALLY do the site visits, design and/ or working drawings, select all the materials, fabricate and finish all the pieces, load the truck, deliver and install every single piece of work that goes out my door. I am a licensed CA State C-6 cabinet and millwork contractor and am insured, bonded and carry Workman's Compensation insurance. I work with one journeyman helper that I have trained and has worked with me for over 15 years. Since I do all the work myself with my helper, I can control quality from the beginning of the design process through installation and everything in between. I am interested in developing long term collaborative working relationships with like minded design professionals in the Interior Design, Architecture and Audio/ Video marketplaces. I want to work with industry professionals that understand the difference between working with an experienced hands-on craftsman and just hiring a another generic cabinet shop or buying a piece of factory made furniture. Although I am considered a small shop I am quite capable of large scale work and can and will provide it on time and within the contracted budget. From fine furniture to cabinets and millwork if it is wood or wood related I am interested in talking to you about your project. My website has been online since 1999. Over the years it has morphed into the version you now see. I see this site as a very sophisticated interactive brochure. The navigation bar above and on all pages will get you to the sections I think are important to most visitors. If you just want to look at pictures of work, I have set up four distinct GALLERIES to show some examples of the different kinds work I do. Keep in mind that it is a small fraction of work that has been done and documented over the years and just because I didn't document a particular piece or type of work on the site it doesn't mean I have not built it or can not make it for you. The COMMISSIONING WORK section explains in detail how I work with clients. FAQs answers the most common questions I have been asked countless times over the years before I set up this site. WOODWORKING 101 is a quick primer on what every client considering custom woodwork should know. The EVERYTHING ELSE section will link you to hours worth of information on myself and work if you are interested. The HOME page has direct links to articles I have written for Fine Woodworking Magazine and finally the WHAT'S NEW section has recent projects completed as well as other news and information.
