I was born in Denver Colorado
In 1955. My dad was in the F.B.I. and was transferred to the New York office in
1957. We lived in a small town, Emerson, New Jersey where I spent my early
childhood. In 1967 my dad was transferred to the Los Angeles office and we moved
to the San Fernando Valley. I attended grade and high school, graduated and
started working in a factory to make some money. I got incredibly bored with
what I was doing and enrolled in a local night school to challenge myself with
something new. The class I took was woodshop.
My woodworking career began
in that class, in 1974 at the age of nineteen; I built my first wood projects. I
was excited by the medium and wanted to learn more about the field so I enrolled
in the Art Department at C.S.U. Northridge to study woodworking as a fine art.
While in school, I put myself through a self-imposed apprenticeship program by
working for various craftspeople. I was hired by a small furniture manufacturer
and was eventually responsible for the entire factory line and all custom
orders. While working and completing classes at C.S.U.N., I pooled my limited
resources with a fellow student and we opened up a small wood shop. I spent most
of my time back then designing and constructing original work for shows and
competitions. In 1978 I went into the custom woodworking business full time
designing and fabricating custom furniture, sculpture, case goods, media centers
and all types of woodwork.
In 1984
I married and two years later my wife Janet and I bought a small fixer on a
beautiful lot. A year after we moved in I designed and built my dream studio. We
had our first son, Bryce in 1987 and our second son Perry in 1990.
I have
been designing and building custom woodwork to order since 1978 but these days I
specialize in home theater furniture and cabinetry. When I’m not working you can
find me on the local twisty roads in the Santa Monica Mountains riding my sport
bike or occasionally fly-fishing on a mountain stream

Over the
years my work has been shown extensively in group, solo and invitational shows
and published in books magazines and newspapers. I've been fortunate enough to
have won several awards and have my custom and original work purchased and
placed in many private collections. Nothing however has been more important or
had more impact on my business and myself then this web site. I have been
online with my work since 1999 and have had literally hundreds of thousands of
visitors resulting in inquiries from all over the world. The Internet is truly
an amazing resource and thanks to the brilliant people who pioneered it I am
able to personally present my work to you.
